Democracy & participation
Everyone gets to vote. Every vote counts.
Ahead of the election on 13 September, we are exploring democracy at Samklang. By voting on their group names, the children will experience what it means to have a voice and a say.

Democracy becomes easier to understand when children experience it for themselves. That is why we are connecting our work around the election to a decision close to their own everyday lives: what their groups will be called.
It will soon be time to vote. Every child gets a vote, and every vote counts equally. The children will make their own choices and contribute to a shared decision — a concrete experience of having a say together.
We are also practising making our voices heard and listening to one another's suggestions. We can have different opinions and still listen to each other with respect. Everyone should have a chance to speak and feel part of the group.
We have prepared the ballot box together. On it are the words that guide our work: your vote counts. Soon, the children will get to cast their votes in it.
